About Dr. Goodenberger

As a member of the Valley View Dermatology staff since 1992, Dr. Michael Goodenberger earned his doctorate degree from the University of Iowa Medical College and acted as the co-chief resident at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics while completing his residency in dermatology. Dr. Goodenberger has received his Board Certification from the American Board of Dermatology and is a certified Mohs Fellow with the American Society of Mohs Surgery.

Dr. Goodenberger was first drawn to dermatology due to his love of the visual nature of the specialty, his appreciation for the diverse span of patients seen—from infants to the elderly—and his desire to integrate medical knowledge with a procedural skill set to deliver efficient and efficacious care. Dr. Goodenberger strongly believes in the golden rule, contouring his practice of medicine according to the maxim: “Treat others as you would like to be treated”.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Goodeberger enjoys spending time with his family—particularly his grandchildren—and he loves to keep his mind active with learnings of all kinds, from knowledge of wine to more obscure knowledge about faith and history.
