About Dr. Wills
Dr. Abby Wills was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, for her undergraduate training, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. After graduating, she spent a year teaching English in France before returning to Portland for medical school at Oregon Health & Science University. She completed medical school in 2020 and started residency in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Following her transitional year at Spokane Teaching Health Center in Spokane, Washington, she moved to Charlottesville, Virginia for dermatology residency and a dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Virginia. She is excited to return to her home state and become a part of Valley View Dermatology.
Dr. Wills was initially drawn to dermatology during her first exposure to the field, when she became a scribe at a dermatology clinic in her pre-medical years. Dr. Wills feels strongly that all people deserve access to excellent and personalized health care, and she strives to provide that at every visit, with every patient. She is passionate about patient education and autonomy and tries to ensure that her patients understand their diagnoses and treatment options to make an informed opinion about what is right for them. She is also particularly enamored with dermatopathology and understands the critical importance of clinicopathologic correlation in arriving at the correct diagnosis. She firmly believes her experience in dermatopathology makes her a better dermatologist, and vice versa.
In her free time, Dr. Wills enjoys playing and watching soccer, fiery game nights, speed-reading audiobooks, and travel hacking.
